Title:: Utility, Cloud and Grid Computing.
The terms cloud and utility computing have come into vogue in a big
way
in recent years. So much so that these terms have occupied a place
in
several national dailies. Yet there remains significant confusion as
to
what this is even among the technical community. Some people argue
that
these are merely extensions to the Grid computing paradigm.
This workshop aims to bring together a few technologists with
different
perspectives on various facets of these technologies - ranging from
hardware platforms, software platforms to the applications
themselves -
to throw some light on what these new trends mean and how they may
manifest going forward.
There will be talks on different aspects followed by an open panel
discussion where the speakers will solicit questions from the
audience
and attempt to provide their perspectives.
Speakers::
R Buyya, University of Melbourne
R Badrinath, HP
K Chidambaran, Yahoo
S Sadhasivam, PSG Coimbatore
Schedule::
